Dressage leaders and enthusiasts from 25 countries were represented at the eighth Global Dressage Forum in The Netherlands this week. Held at Hooge Mierde, the event featured a talk by Dr Hilary Clayton and a lesson with Hubertus Schmidt, and rider Heike Kemmer, who discussed her Grand Prix Special test at the Olympic Games. read more from HorseTalk

First World Cup dressage round to Isabell Werth
Isabell Werth and Warum Nicht won the first leg of the 2008-2009 FEI World Cup Dressage in Denmark yesterday. The winner of the final in 2007, Werth also combined the show in Odense with a clinic in Helsinki.The clinic in Helsinki didn't prevent the Silver Olympic medallist from winning both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle in Odense, thus grabbing the first World Cup points in the new season of the Western European League.read more from HorseTalk

British teenager is first woman student at Spanish Riding School
Sojourner Morrell, 17, will be the first female student at the city's Spanish Riding School, which trains riders in classical dressage on white Lipizzaner stallions. From Courtney King-Dye "Although I was very aware that the Zero Tolerance Rule would make it nearly impossible for the FEI to clear my name from this illegal medications use charge, I was still somehow extremely disappointed when I received their ruling this morning. In the FEI press release, the Tribunal clearly acknowledges my innocence and lack of negligence in their ruling.
