Two Named for World Dressage Young Horse Championships

NATIONAL dressage selectors have chosen two horses to represent Australia at the World Dressage Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, next month. The two horses, now campaigning in Germany, to represent Australia in the five-year-old category. The pair, not seen in Australia before, are Kristy Oatley's stallion Swagman 2 and Robert Schmerglatt on the mare, Fonteyne owned by Linda and Beau Dowsett. read more from Weekly Times Now

International Dressage Riders Club refuses Isabell Werth's resignation Isabell Werth

The International Dressage Riders Club has refused to accept the resignation of international rider Isabell Werth. Top German dressage rider Isabell, who won double gold at the 2008 Olympics, was suspended from competition last month by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) after a banned drug was found in her horse Whisper. Whisper tested positive for the sedative fluphenazine at CDI Wiesbaden on 30 May. On 1 July, Isabell emailed the board of the International Dressage Riders Club (IDRC) informing them of her intention to stand down from the board and also to resign as a member. read more from HorseandHound.co.uk

Steffen Peters and Ravel Sweep Dressage At Aachen CHIO

It was pure excitement up until the very end. Would the American rider manage to beat the "Freestyle Queen" Anky van Grunsven in the Deutsche Bank Prize, Grand Prix Freestyle? Van Grunsven had set the score to beat at 84.50 percent with a highly technical choreography. And yet Steffen Peters still managed to go one better, claiming his third victory at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen with a score of 85.60 percent. "It was almost like riding in front of a home crowd. The competition went even better than at the World Cup Finale in Las Vegas," commented the 44-year-old rider who emigrated to California as a 20-year-old after growing up in Rhineland. read more from DressageDaily

2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Announces Ticket Prices - Ticket Sales Set to Begin on September 25, 2009

Ticket prices and detailed competition schedules for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are now available as the world’s most prestigious equestrian competition prepares to visit the Kentucky Horse Park from September 25-October 10, 2010.
