This year's PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars is shaping up to be another outstanding event. Held later this week (March 18 - 20) at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, the event has attracted over 280 horses from all states of Australia, and includes many of the winners and placegetters from the 2009 event. With international judges and guest stars such as Ton de Ridder, Edward Doyle, Dr Ulf Moeller and Lydia Camp attending for masterclasses and guest riding of finalists it is a star-studded event. read more

Pro dressage rider starts helmet-wearing campaign

Professional dressage rider Heather Blitz has started a campaign to urge more riders to wear helmets, following Courtney King-Dye's accident last week. King-Dye, 32, remains in a coma following a fall during a training session at her farm in Loxahatchee, Florida. Blitz said at the weekend that risks are inherent in equestrian sport, but "it's a calculated risk that we accept but one where we should take every precaution to promote safe practices.".. read more from HorseTalk.co.nz

Bad luck has plagued Courtney King-Dye in the last six months, as two of her top horses had to be put down, but yesterday fate dealt a far worse blow when a fall left the Olympic dressage rider in a coma. Accessible' dressage format to be tested in Aachen

A simpler and more entertaining Olympic dressage format will be tested at the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany, this summer. This follows a complete overhaul of the sport after the 2008 Olympics. Aachen's director of sport, Frank Kempermann, who heads the reinstated International Equestrian Federation (FEI) dressage committee, says the German show (16-18 July) will be a pilot for the new Olympic dressage format, adopted by the FEI last November. The changes aim "to make the sport more fair and transparent, more exciting and more comprehensible". read more from Horse and Hound.co.UK

Steffen Peters To Be At EQUITANA Melbourne 2010

Steffen Peters will be in Melbourne from the 18th - 21st of November and he will present a specialist dressage clinic on how to train dressage horses from Preliminary to Grand Prix level and he will also participate in the daily Education Program, where he will deliver various dressage training sessions and presentations during the show.
